6-14-1- Summary

The exporter chooses the ship, pays the freight and bears the transport risks. The transfer of costs and risks between the exporter and the importer takes place on board the ship at the designated unloading place at the destination port The uncleared goods are made available on board the ship at the destination port.

Both parties could agree that the exporter bear the costs and risks of unloading of the goods. In that case, use of this Incoterm © is preferable.

6-14-2- From the viewpoint of the importer

The importer is responsible of operations in its country, unloading costs and the customs clearance. The importer, here, bears all the risks in case of loss or damage. At this point, the goods have not yet been cleared.
